Dickson Davis - Dixie’s Diner’s Famous Dusted Donuts
by Kate on Aug.11, 2009, under Blog
Dickson Davis was called “Dix” for short and he called his dog and his diner, “Dixie”. He drove daily to Delta to deliver dough for the donuts, dubbing Dixie’s Diner in Delta, no doubt, the BEST donut this side of the Mississippi. Dickson’s daughter Dorothy diligently drove “Dixie’s Diner”, though she’d never made the dough for Dixie’s Famous Donuts.
Dix kept it such a deep secret, that he would only deliver the dough by driving daily from his dark basement bakery deep in the dark forest in the mountains miles outside of Delta.
Dix dark bakery was dark due to being dug deep down into the ground. Dix dug the dirt with his bare hands, alone, but for his dutiful dog, Dixie.
Dorothy didn’t ask Dix any questions about the deep dark secret recipe. Dix Daughter just prayed daily that her dad would arrive doting the dough. She knew one day the day would come when her dad’s delivery would miss the dawn’s sunrise… and the entire deluge of Deltonians would demand Dixie’s Donuts by the dozen at the door… yet forever there would be no more…
Dix didn’t distrust Dorothy, his dear and dutiful daughter… despite this he still kept the deep dark secret of the delicious dusted donuts…
Determined to save his Dixie Legacy ( this meant keeping Dorothy & the Dough safe). Dix didn’t want to see deviants detain his doting daughter over determining a damn donut dough derision.
